In Alexandru Bordian words “Efectul știrii este mai important decât adevărul ei”, Which translates as “The effect of the news is more important than its truth, in war of narratives it is sometimes very difficult to differentiate between fake news and the real information however, as much as one wants, no one can easily get away with it because real Journalism must demand evidence, especially when the cost of repeating a lie could be war however, one cannot deny that the effect of the news is more important than its truth.

The effect of the news is more important than its truth.

It is astonishing to see such series of propaganda emanating from a global platform, which has opening lend its space to Ehsanullah Ehsan, a former spokesman for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, both designated terrorist organizations without fully reckoning with his dismal credibility.

A reclaimed terrorist, responsible for killing hundreds of innocents, claiming that India’s RAW was supporting Pakistani militants in Afghanistan in 2017, an allegation denied by India and never substantiated by evidence. He later escaped Pakistani custody and has since operated as a self-declared righteous truth-teller while peddling conveniently timed narratives that serve whichever geopolitical fault line is under strain.

Pakistan categorically rejects the allegations in Ehsan Ullah Ehsan’s article, which are not only baseless but clearly lacking any credible evidence. Publishing such claims at a time of heightened Indo-Pak tensions and live military operations isn’t just poor judgment. It’s a reckless amplification of unverified propaganda that could justify escalation and fuel instability in a nuclear region.

The claim that Pakistani agencies are planning new attacks is a tenuous attempt to twist facts and part of a recurring narrative aimed at maligning Pakistan’s image. As a nation that has lost thousands of lives to terrorism, a nation that is struggling to clean the filthy residual of terrorism has taken substantial and serious measures to combat terrorism within its borders and across the region.

Especially in case of recent tension, the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan has condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and acted with sheer grace and prudence. However, India surely has turned to propaganda after brutal moral and physical defeat in Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos.

Real journalism must demand evidence, especially when the cost of repeating a lie could be war.

The interesting thing here is the credibility of the author himself, Ehsan Ullah Ehsan, mastermind behind killing of hundreds of innocent people in bombings targeting religious minorities and marginalized Islamic sects. Among the most high-profile attacks claimed by Ehsan on behalf of the Taliban was the one aimed at now Nobel Laureate and education activist Malala Yousafzai in October 2012.

Liaqat Ali, commonly known as Ehsanullah Ehsan, hails from the Mohmand Agency of the northwestern tribal region of Pakistan, which shares a border with Afghanistan. Ehsan reportedly joined TTP during college in 2008, where his role was to be the group’s mouthpiece for the Mohmand Agency. He subsequently became TTP’s main spokesman. When a faction of TTP parted ways with the terrorist organization and established Jammat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) in 2014, Ehsan became that newly created group’s spokesman.

The same Ehsan ullah Ehsan banned from appearing on any TV channel or any other platform in Pakistan by Pakistan Electronic Media regulatory Authority as they stated that a terrorist, of a known militant, cannot be allowed to use any channel as a platform for an interview as it “heart-wrenching and deeply disturbing” for the colleagues, family, and friends who have lost their loved ones in acts of terrorism, has been provided a platform to reach to global audience to spread propaganda and fake news.

Pakistan has already suffered a lot due to terrorism and has always worked seriously to stop it within the country in the region. With alleged ties to hostile Indian agencies, this narrative appears more aligned with propagandist objectives than journalistic integrity. Unsubstantiated blame only derails efforts toward peace and cooperation. This doesn’t seem like a coincidence, but a planned move to create false reasons for conflict. His statements serve to inflame tensions and push an anti-Pakistan agenda, undermining any claim to neutrality or truth.

Rather than resorting to propaganda and blame game, and politically motivated accusations, India and other parties should allow an impartial investigation based on concrete evidence to look into Pahalgam incident.

Publishing Ehsanullah Ehsan’s claims without credible evidence is reckless amplification of unverified propaganda.

Accusations that Pakistan is reactivating proxy groups in Kashmir are not only misleading but are an attempt to derail the year long struggle of innocent Kashmiri people who are struggling for their right of peaceful existence decided in line with the UN resolutions. Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir has always been based on supporting the legitimate right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, However, it is India that has often been accused of supporting militancy in Pakistan through proxies and covert operations.

Not only in Kashmir, Pakistan faces a persistent proxy war, fueled by foreign-backed terrorist outfits in Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well. However, Pakistan’s resolve to fight terrorism stays intact and determined. Pakistan remains committed to addressing the concerns of its people through development projects, political engagement, and inclusive governance.

Misinformation is the new weapon of mass distraction.

Misinformation is the new weapon of mass distraction. It is time that Pakistan should raise this issue at the China-Afghanistan-Pakistan trilateral meeting. Pakistan has time and again has called for an independent investigation of Pahalgam attack which India clearly wants to evade. Assertions about Pakistan’s military and intelligence involvement in regional unrest are a continuation of disinformation campaigns. These institutions have been instrumental in securing the country from internal and external threats and remain focused on ensuring stability and always will be.
